Dark Souls Remastered Releasing On All Platforms Including Nintendo Switch

Bandai Namco Entertainment has just revealed that their popular action RPG game, Dark Souls, is being remastered and will be available from May 25th across all platforms, including, the Nintendo Switch!

The announcement that Dark Souls Remastered was being released on Nintendo Switch was made today during a surprise Nintendo Direct event. The remastered game will be developed by the original studio behind the Dark Souls games, From Software.

A press release announcing the title stated:

“Experience the rich world of Dark Souls in upscaled 4K resolution with 60FPS when playing on a PlayStation 4 Pro system, Xbox One X, and PC,” reads the press release. “Also, 1080p resolution with 30FPS is available when playing the game on Nintendo Switch with its TV mode.”

Not only will the graphics of the game be enhanced, but Dark Souls Remastered is said to also support up to six players for online multiplayer!

Furthermore, reports have been swirling around that a Dark Souls Trilogy box set will be releasing for the PlayStation 4 in Japan. The collection will feature Dark Souls RemasteredDark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin and Dark Souls 3: The Fire Fades Edition. There will also be soundtracks for each of the games, knight and bonfire bookends, an encyclopedia, and a special art set. Unfortunately, this set has not been confirmed for other regions, which is a shame because Dark Souls fans the world over, including myself, will be extremely pleased to be in possession of such a unique and collectible box set.

As someone who found Dark Souls 3 incredibly challenging and have yet to complete the game, it’s going to be interesting to see the ‘You Died’ screen pop up while on the go. Nevertheless, I’m excited!
