Disney’s ‘The Lion King’ Remake Casts Donald Glover & James Earl Jones

Director, Jon Favreau, today announced on his Twitter page that Donald Glover is set to become King. The star, who has also been cast as Lando Calrissian in the upcoming young Han-Solo Star Wars spin-off film, has been cast to voice Simba in Disney’s remake of the popular animated film, The Lion King.

Favreau also revealed that screen legend, James Earl Jones, will return to reprise his role as the noble and wise Mufasa, the much loved character he had voiced in the original animated film in 1994.

While the film will not be a live-action remake, as first thought, the film certainly will look it, according to Favreau and his team, who had previously worked on the remake of Disney’s The Jungle Book.

No further details have been revealed about the film at this time but stay tuned!
