Future of Marvel Studios Confirmed Post Avengers: Infinity War

It’s been nearly a decade since the Marvel Cinematic Universe kicked off with Iron Man in 2008. Now, with approximately 20 films released and 7 more currently in production, it doesn’t look like Marvel Studios will be slowing down anytime soon.

Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, divulged information about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a recent interview with Vanity Fair.

“22 movies in, and we’ve got another 20 movies on the docket that are completely different from anything that’s come before — intentionally,” Feige said, “There will be two distinct periods. Everything before Avengers 4 and everything after. I know it will not be in ways people are expecting.”

Feige also went on to say that Infinity War will be a finale and that it will “bring things you’ve never seen in superhero films: a finale.”

While details on what’s to come post Avengers 4 remains a mystery, Disney CEO, Bob Iger, noted, in the same interview with Vanity fair, that Marvel Studios is:

“looking for worlds that are completely separate, geographically or in time, from the worlds that we’ve already visited.”

Iger also mentioned that Marvel Studios owns the rights to over a whopping 7,000 characters, so the possibilities of new heroes making their big screen debut are endless.

Though the finale will be rather emotional for many Marvel fans who’ve followed each character’s journey right from the beginning, a new direction with exploration into new worlds will certainly be exciting.
