HyperX at PAX Aus

The HyperX Peripherals Tour at PAX Australia 2017

Being new to peripherals, HyperX is one brand that I never really considered prior to getting a tour of the range at PAX Australia 2017. After my time at the HyperX stand, I’m so glad I managed to get a look at their range on offer.

HyperX Peripherals

I was taken through a brief history of the company’s peripheral range, which includes headsets, keyboards and most recently, mousepads and mice, though HyperX does also offer memory, SSDs and USB drives through its parent brand, Kingston.

First, I was introduced to the Alloy FPS Mechanical Gaming keyboards. According to the team at HyperX, the Alloy FPS range was made specifically for first person shooter games. The Alloy FPS is more of the introductory level keyboard with unique colouring and texture for the keys used predominantly in FPS games. The Alloy FPS Pro is similar, however, is more for advanced FPS gamers and does away with the number pad on the keyboard, making it much more compact.

Then there’s the Alloy Elite Mechanical Gaming keyboard. This is a wider keyboard made for more general gaming, especially MOBAs, and comes built with media keys and a wrist rest.

After that, I was shown the Pulsefire FPS mouse, the most recent addition to the HyperX peripheral range. The Pulsefire FPS mouse was made to provide FPS gamers with pin-point accuracy and whilst recommended to be used for FPS gaming, the mouse can also be used for general use as well.

The headset range by HyperX definitely caught my attention. The Cloud Alpha, Cloud Revolver and Cloud Stinger series were all incredibly comfortable, each with their own unique qualities, with specs that can be found here .The Cloud Stinger was superbly comfortable and incredibly lightweight. As a headset fiend, I can’t wait to give this a try on stream one day.

While the peripherals were definitely great to look at, it was rather cool to see the eSports team, the Direwolves, at the HyperX stand conducting some signings and photos with many of their fans.

I’ll definitely be looking into getting some HyperX peripherals to review in the near future, especially those headsets! Plus they do look mighty good.
