James Franco Is Multiple Man in X-Men Spinoff Film

According to Deadline, 20th Century Fox are working on a new X-Men spin-off film which will feature Jamie Maddox, a.k.a Multiple Man.

News broke earlier today that James Franco (who played Harry Osborne in the original Spider-Man films) will play the mutant, with Wonder Woman scribe, Allan Heinberg, penning the script and Simon Kinberg producing.

Multiple Man is a mutant in the X-Men Universe, created by the late Len Wein, who possesses the ability to instantly duplicate himself. He made his on screen debut in the 2006 film, X-Men: The Last Stand, and was portrayed by Eric Dane.

Fox has been furiously mining the X-Men franchise and filling up its calendar with numerous X-Men spin-offs, starting with The New Mutants, and followed by a solo Gambit film.

After the success of Deadpool and Logan, here’s hoping that Fox has learnt from its previous mistakes with the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises, and do justice to the X-Men franchise and its characters.
