Anson Mount, the star of Hell on Wheels, has been announced to play Black Bolt, King of the Inhumans, in Marvel’s The Inhumans TV series. Mount is the second series lead to be cast, next to Game of Thrones alum Iwan Rheon, who was last week cast as Maximus the Mad, Black Bolt’s brother.
“Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently,” said the head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb, in a press release. “His enthusiasm mixed with his imposing almost regal persona made it easy to see why he is our Black Bolt.”
Blackagar Boltagon, king of the Inhumans, is the leader of the Royal Family and the entire Inhuman people. Terrigenesis bestowed upon Black Bolt a voice that can level a mountain or destroy a city with just a whisper. Black Bolt rules with the aid of his wife, Queen Medusa, who is expected to appear in Marvel’s The Inhumans, but has not yet been cast.
