Microsoft Reveals Xbox Project Scorpio’s Impressive Tech Specs

Microsoft has finally revealed the tech specifications for Project Scorpio, the company’s next-gen gaming console.

In an exclusive PR release to Digital Foundry, Project Scorpio, has been revealed as a significant upgrade to the current Xbox One consoles. Digital Foundry says that Project Scorpio is a “console hardware design pushed to a new level, with a meticulous focus on appealing to the core gamer.”

Here are the internal specifications for the console:

What this essentially means is that the console runs and reads at a faster speed than the Xbox One, which should allow for 4K resolutions to be easily achieved and maintained.

These numbers also indicate a significant improvement on even PlayStation’s PS4 Pro and will allow improved performance on regular HD screens. Furthermore, the new console is said to be able to run all Xbox One (and 360 backwards compatible) games better and faster.

This reveal is indicates that Project Scorpio could very well be the most powerful console we’ll see and is extremely exciting for both game developers and gamers alike. Though, at present, no current price has been set for the console nor details on what it will look like. This will likely be revealed at E3 2017 in June. Regardless, this is a huge step up for Microsoft and Xbox.
