QuakeCon 2019 took place last weekend and featured some upcoming Bethesda content to whet your appetite.
Here’s a recap of what was showcased this year.
DOOM Eternal
At the QuakeCon: Year of DOOM keynote address, id Software Executive Producer, Marty Stratton, and Creative Director, Hugo Martin, revealed further information about DOOM Eternal’s new PvP experience, BATTLEMODE. Designed from the ground up by id Software alongside DOOM Eternal’s single-player campaign, BATTLEMODE is an all-new multiplayer mode where a team of two player-controlled demons use their cunning (and demon reinforcements) to take down their opponent – a player in the boots of a fully armed DOOM Slayer.
New details were announced around BATTLEMODE’s arenas and the various playable demons, along with their special abilities.
Legacy DOOM Games
Bethesda is hosting a BFG-sized celebration in honour of DOOM’s 25th anniversary. Announced over the weekend, DOOM (1993), DOOM II, and DOOM 3 are available on all-new platforms. Players are able to pick-up DOOM (1993) and DOOM II on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and iOS and Android devices; DOOM 3 is available now on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
