Lucasfilm has revealed the Sith Troopers in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
The reveal, which comes ahead of San Diego Comic-Con, was made in toy form on Lucasfilm’s The Star Wars Show.
The next iteration of First Order/Imperial troopers, will feature “a modern and more menacing look befitting its namesake.”
The Sith Troopers, as they are known, first appeared in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic video game as foot soldiers of the Sith Empire. In The Rise of Skywalker, they appear to look similar to Stormtroopers, though with the same color palette of Emperor Snoke’s red Elite Praetorian Guard.
The Rise of Skywalker is a sequel to Star Wars: The Last Jedi and will be the ninth film in the Star Wars franchise. The film is set to release in December and will see Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver reprise their roles in the film alongside returning Star Wars legends, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams, Ian McDiarmid and Carrie Fisher (by way of unused footage).
