It isn’t E3 without something from Geoff Keighley and this year, E3 2021 kicked off with Keighley’s Summer Games Fest.
Summer Games Fest, which took place early this morning, acts as a prelude showcase. Chock full of announcements, trailers and surprises, there was plenty to get gamers ready for the first all digital E3.
Below is a recap of everything revealed at the online festival.
Elden Ring
The release date of the highly anticipated game, Elden Ring, was finally announced. The game, written by George R. R. Martin and Hidetaka Miyazaki, will release on 21 January 2022.
The release date was accompanied by a first look at gameplay.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
2K Games and Gearbox, who were behind the popular Borderlands franchise, announced a brand new title: Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. A standalone title, the game features the voice talents of Will Arnett, Andy Samberg, Wanda Sykes and Ashley Burch.
Metal Slug Tactics
The long-running franchise, known best for its run and gun action, is getting a strategic overhaul.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut
Like Keighley, it wouldn’t be E3 without an appearance by Hideo Kojima. Kojima stopped by the show to announce that the Director’s Cut of Death Stranding will be coming soon to PS5.
Jurassic World Evolution 2
Jeff Goldblum helped to reveal Jurassic World Evolution 2, a sequel park builder sim.
Lost Ark
The Korean MMO, Lost Ark, will release in the West this Spring.
Sable
The sci-fi desert adventure will be releasing on 23rd September this year. The game’s release date was revealed during the course of the Summer Games Fest.
Among Us
Who doesn’t love a good game of hide and seek?
Among Us will be getting a new Hide and Seek mode, new roles, new colours, a new map and much more.
Salt and Sacrifice
The sequel to Salt and Sanctuary, Salt and Sacrifice, has been announced for 2022.
Two Point Campus
School is in session! Two Point Studios have revealed the spin-off to Two Point Hospital.
Two Point Campus will come to consoles and PC in 2022.
Escape From Tarkov
A new area arrives in Escape From Tarkov. Take your battle to the war torn streets and apartment buildings in this new gameplay trailer.
Stranger Things x Smite
Smite is getting a Stranger Things collaboration on 13 June. The collab will include Eleven, an Upside Down area map and a full battle pass.
The Anacrusis
Looking for a Left 4 Dead style co-op shooter? Look no further. The Anacrusis, from Valve writer, Chet Faliszek, has been announced.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt
A battle royale style game is coming to the Vampire universe this year.
Tales of Arise
Check out the newest Tales of Arise and the game’s characters and abilities, shown off in a new trailer at the Summer Games Fest show.
Planet of Lana
A hand-painted art style game, considered to be an ‘off-world odyssey’ was revealed. It’s set to release in 2022.
Call of Duty: Zombies Creator Announces New Studio and Partnership
Jason Blundell, the creator of Call of Duty: Zombies, has teamed up with Treyarch veteran, Dave Anthony, to start a new studio called Deviation Games. The new studio will be partnering with PlayStation on a new IP.
Far Cry 6
Giancarlo Esposito who plays Antón Castillo in Far Cry 6 eveals his character’s background and motivations as the despot ruler of the island, Yara.
Evil Dead: The Game
A first look reveal of Evil Dead: The Game was shown off. The feature was narrated by Bruce Campbell who plays Ash Williams in the series.
Back 4 Blood
Gameplay trailers are all the rage so of course we’d get a brand new trailer for the survival horror game, Back 4 Blood. This new trailer introduces a brand new enemy.
