The Matrix is getting a fourth film, according to reports.
Sixteen years after the third The Matrix film, Warner Bros Pictures has confirmed that a fourth film is officially happening. It further confirms that both Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Ann Moss will be returning for the film, disproving reports that the film may be a spin-off.
The film will begin production next year.
Lana Wachowski, who will direct, write and co-produce the film, said that the themes of The Matrix are even more relevant in today’s modern world, especially since A.I and simulations play an important part.
The premise of the film is uncertain and fans are left to wonder how the fourth film will tie in with the trilogy, especially given that Carrie-Ann Moss’ character, Trinity, died in the last film.
It’s safe to say though, that bringing Keanu Reeves back is a major draw card given his rising popularity.
