With the Tokyo Game Show (“TGS”) in full swing there’s a ton of new game news and announcements to go over, plus some very interesting news coming out of the Apple camp.
Here’s this week in geekdom!
Videogames
Yakuza: Like A Dragon
Sega is leading the charge at TGS with not one, but two, trailers for the next Yakuza game titled Yakuza: Like A Dragon. This is first mainline game in the franchise that doesn’t tell the story of Kiryu Kazuma.
Players will instead take on the role of Ichiban Kasuga, as he struggles to survive in an underworld he doesn’t understand and betrayed by those he loved and admired.
Sega also dropped a gameplay trailer for the game, which showed off most, if not all the shenanigans Ichiban can get up to in Kamurocho. It also shows off the new turn-based combat, which is a departure from the classic beat-em-up style of the past games.
Yakuza: comes to the west sometime in 2020.
Resident Evil: Project Resistance
Capcom has revealed their newest Resident Evil game; and no it isn’t a remake of Resident Evil 3 or Resident Evil 8. Instead it’s a 4v1 asymmetrical survival horror.
The game pits four players against a sadistic mastermind who controls anything from machine gun turrets to zombies and even Mr. X himself.
No release date has been announced but Resident Evil fans can sign up to the beta for the game, which starts early next month.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot
Bandai Namco has dropped a new trailer for their next Dragon Ball Z game, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, along with a collector’s edition reveal.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot releases on the 17th of January 2020.
