PAX Aus Announces Story Time Speaker for 2025

Gavin Verhey will headline PAX Aus 2025 as this year’s Keynote speaker. When he was 11 years old, Gavin’s dream was to make Magic cards – and now he gets to do that every day as a Principal Magic Designer. Whether designing cards, going to events around the world, or appearing on his YouTubeseries Good Morning Magic, Gavin is bringing the Magic to YOU! He’s led the design of sets like Battlebond, Commander Legends, and Magic: The Gathering FINAL FANTASY, with plenty more
cooked up for the future.

Other great publishers and games are also represented with some of their biggest gaming stars coming to share their knowledge, including:

Josh Sawyer – Studio Design Director, Obsidian Entertainment

 

Josh Sawyer, Studio Design Director and Director of Pentiment, known for his work on Fallout: New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity will bring his encyclopaedic RPG knowledge and design philosophy to the PAX Aus stage. Known for his meticulous world-building, deep RPG systems and passion for player choice, Josh has shaped some of the most beloved role-playing experiences of the last two decades.

Joshua Mills – Game Director, Rainbow Six Siege

From Ubisoft Montreal and the world of Rainbow Six Siege, Game Director, Joshua Mills, is heading to PAX Australia. A driving force behind one of the world’s most popular tactical shooters, Joshua helps shape gameplay and guides the ongoing evolution of the game. Joshua will be joining a fireside chat at PAX, sharing insights into game design, behind the scenes stories and reflecting on ten years of Siege. Joshua’s attendance at PAX also coincides with the Rainbow Six Siege Asia Pacific League 2025 Major Qualifier, which will be streamed live from the PAX Arena for the first time ever.

Lis Moberly – Lead Game Designer, Disney’s 20th Century Games

Lis Moberly is the Creative Lead of 20th Century Games at The Walt Disney Company. She has worked with companies such as Obsidian Entertainment, WB Avalanche, and Chuhai Labs as a game writer and narrative designer. Her works can be found in Avowed, Cursed to Golf, and We Went Back, among others. In addition to her games work, Lis is a former academic and professor who continues to study critical issues facing game development including game dev burnout, feedback culture, and institutional memory.

Good Games Morley Creators – Riley, Aaron, Ricky & Violet

The hilarious crew from Good Games Morley are bringing their unique brand of fun to PAX Aus this year. Known for their hugely popular online content and love of all things tabletop, the team will be hitting the stage for a live Magic: The Gathering match against fellow creators After Hours, hosting a meet & greet and more. Expect laughs, establishing shots and plenty of card-slinging action.

Jenny Windom – Founder, Geeks & Grounds / Host, Wholesome Games

Known for championing uplifting and inclusive gaming experiences, Jenny Windom brings her expertise in community-driven and wholesome gaming culture to the show. With nearly a decade of experience across community marketing, influencer strategy, game funding and production in roles at publishers, studios and funding organizations, Jenny excels at nurturing thoughtful engagement with games through her content creation, hosting and her reflective game club and podcast, Geeks & Grounds.

These guests join the already announced lineup of Amelia Tyler, Luke Dale, Ify Nwadiwe and more making this year’s PAX Aus guest list packed with talent spanning every corner of gaming and entertainment.
