A night out with Quantum Break & X-Men star Shawn Ashmore

Xbox is for the fans. We know this to be true from all the exciting events, promotions and giveaways that Xbox continually deliver for the enjoyment of their loyal gamer fans. The team at Xbox New Zealand (“Xbox NZ”), in particular, have done well in the past with fantastic events to promote their games such as XONZ and the Halo 5 launch night. With their latest and most exciting exclusive game, Quantum Break, an action-adventure, science fiction, third person shooter video game, Xbox NZ went all out and gamers around the country were thrilled.

From an initial preview at XONZ last year to a Spring Showcase event dedicated to the introduction and development of Quantum Break, Xbox’s latest exclusive title has been at the forefront of many gamers’ minds. But, being well known for giving back to their fans, Xbox’s Quantum Break promotion didn’t stop there. On Sunday night, Xbox NZ made many fantasies come true with a fun night out with X-Men star and the lead in Quantum Break, Shawn Ashmore.

Thanks to Xbox NZ, I was very fortunate to have been invited to attend the little mixer. Many of you may know that I am a huge X-Men fan, from the original 1962 run of the comics through to the latest film adaptations. Not to mention, I’ve been a part of the Quantum Break fan experience since its preview at XONZ. Catching a glimpse of Shawn Ashmore, who plays Ice Man and Jack Joyce in the X-Men films and Quantum Break respectively, was a momentous occasion in itself. Getting the chance to speak with and interview him sent me over the moon. Xbox NZ made a small dream of mine come true and for that I’ll be forever grateful.

Shawn was a fantastic guy. He was down to Earth, easy to talk to and took the time to chat with each and every attendee at the mixer. Check out the video above of my chat with him and see for yourself.

**A huge thank you and special mention to my friend, Jason Spiller, the man who made all of this possible and continues to bring excitement and ingenuity to Xbox NZ.
