Martial artist and Hong Kong action star, Donnie Yen (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, xXx: Return of Xander Cage and IP Man), has been cast as the lead for the upcoming live-action video game adaptation of Square Enix’s Sleeping Dogs.
Set in Hong Kong, Yen will play police officer Wei Shen, a former San Francisco detective, who returns to his home town and goes undercover to take down a powerful criminal organization on behalf of the Hong Kong police. Similar to the video-game, film-goers can expect to see plenty of action consisting of martial arts and car chases.
The open world action-adventure game first released in 2012. In 2014, it was remastered for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
