Tetris Effect Announced For PS4 & PS VR

PlayStation have announced a brand-new take on the legendary puzzle game, with Tetris Effect coming to PS4 with optional PS VR support this Spring.

Developed by Tetsuya Mizuguchi, the creator of Rez Infinite, Tetris Effect was inspired by a Harvard study that discovered that people who play Tetris can start seeing images from the game in real life.

Tetris Effect is designed to maximise the magical, scientifically-proven aspect of Tetris that it’s named after with more than 30 stages that will immerse you in a different fantastical world that reacts and evolves based on how you play. There’s also the returning Tetris modes (Marathon, Ultra, Sprint), plus other original modes that will be available as well the all-new “Zone” mechanic, where players can stop time (and Tetriminos falling) by entering “the Zone” and either manoeuvre out of a potential game-over situation, or rack up extra line clears for bonus rewards.

You’ve never played a game like this before. Check out the Tetris Effect announcement trailer below.
