Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first trailer for IT Chapter Two at San Diego Comic-Con, which hits cinemas on the 5th of September.
The follow up to the record-breaking 2017 film, IT, sees a reawakened Pennywise returning to Derry after 27 years, once again pitting a reunited Loser’s Club against the clown that tormented their town, all those years ago.
The official premise of the film is as follows: “Twenty-seven years after their first encounter with the terrifying Pennywise, the Losers Club have grown up and moved away, until a devastating phone call brings them back.”
Produced by New Line Cinema and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, the film stars Jessica Chastain as Beverly Marsh, with James McAvoy and Bill Hader taking on the roles of Bill Denbrough and Richie Tozier.
Along with the older members of the Loser’s Club, their younger counterparts will once again be played by Sophie Lillis as Beverly, Finn Wolfhard as Richie and Jaeden Lieberher as Bill.
The sequel also has Bill Skarsgard reprising his role as the clown creature.
Director, Andy Muschietti returned to the director’s chair for the second chapter, with Gary Dauberman also back to write the sequel after co-writing the 2017 remake.
Warner Bros. Pictures also released an exceptionally terrifying poster for the film, which is still sending shivers down my spine.
Both Part 1 and 2 are based on Stephen King’s 1986 novel of the same name, which was the critically acclaimed author’s 18th novel.
