John Krasinski has announced that filming for the sequel to his 2018 directorial debut, A Quiet Place, has begun.
Krasinski took to his Twitter account to announce the sequel with a classic clapperboard. It also reveals the working title for the film, dubbed ‘Part II’.
The sequel sees Emily Blunt returning as Evelyn Abbott, as well as Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds, reprising their roles as the surviving Abbott Children.
Cillian Murphy, from Peaky Blinders and The Dark Knight Trilogy fame, is joining the cast in an unnamed role. Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse voice actor, Brian Tyree Henry, will also play a role in the survival horror sequel, but no details have been released on who he will play.
While no major details about the storyline have been revealed, the sequel takes place after the events of the first film and follows the Abbott family after discovering the weakness to the creatures that now stalk the U.S, and possibly, the world.
John Krasinski is once again behind the directing chair for the sequel and co-wrote the story with Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. All three also wrote the story for the first film.
A Quiet Place Part II is set for release sometime in 2020, until then, don’t make a sound…
