Blizzard Entertainment has, today, introduced Overwatch‘s 24th hero: the tank, Orisa, an omnic “mechanical peacekeeper” from the land of Numbani, who fights with a “fusion driver,” or a projectile machine gun.
Eleven-year-old child prodigy Efi Oladele created Orisa from discarded defense robot parts in Numbani following the Omnic Crisis, a significant event in Overwatch’s lore. Fans accurately predicted that Efi, who was introduced into the canon earlier this month, would have a hand in crafting the robotic hero.
Blizzard Entertainment has now premiered an animated retelling of Orisa’s origin story, showing her strong connection to the young Efi. Here it is below.
