DC Universe Announcements At SDCC 2019

Though Warner Bros. Pictures did not have any DC film announcements at SDCC this year, there were plenty of DC Universe announcements to get fans excited.

Here’s a breakdown of everything coming to the DC Universe streaming service.

Doom Patrol Season 2

DC Comics’ Doom Patrol will be returning for season 2. The second season will not only be available on the DC Universe streaming service but will also be on HBO Max.

Season 2 of Doom Patrol is due for a 2020 release.

Titans Season 2

New footage from season 2 of Titans was revealed during the DC Universe panel and featured a first look at Deathstroke (Esai Morales) and Aqualad (Drew Van Acker).

The second season will directly continue the events of Season 1 with the introduction of several new characters.

The new characters will include Batman (Iain Glen), Superboy (Joshua Orpin), Jericho (Chella Man), Ravager (Chelsea Zhang), and Mercy Graves (Natalie Gumede).

Jason Todd (Curran Walters), Donna Troy (Connor Leslie), Hawk (Alan Ritchson), and Dove (Minka Kelly) will also be returning.

Titans Season 2 will debut on September 6th on DC Universe.

Harley Quinn Animated Series

DC Universe debuted the first trailer for the Harley Quinn animated series at the streaming service’s SDCC panel.

Harley Quinn is an R-rated comedy, which focuses on Harley, post break-up with the Joker, as she goes off on her own to join Poison Ivy and a ragtag crew villains, including Catwoman and the Scarecrow.

Kaley Cuoco stars as Harley Quinn, with Lake Bell (Children’s Hospital) as Poison Ivy, Alan Tudyk (Firefly) as the Joker, and Tony Hale (Arrested Development) as Doctor Psycho. Also joining the voice cast are Wanda Sykes, Ron Funches, and Jason Alexander in unconfirmed roles.

Young Justice Season 4

The highly acclaimed animated series, Young Justice, was today confirmed for a fourth season. Series co-creator, Greg Weisman hinted at more secrets and lies for the upcoming season. There will also be more from Apokolips as well as Lex Luthor in season 4, though not much more was revealed.

Young Justice: Outsiders currently streams on DC Universe and no doubt the fourth season will be streamed exclusively on the service as well.
