A first look image of Brandon Routh as Kingdom Come Superman has been revealed.
The CW has shared a new image which shows off Routh as the Kingdom Come Superman for the upcoming Arrowverse crossover, Crisis on Infinite Earths.
Routh, who played Superman in the 2006 film Superman Returns, has been involved in the Arrowverse as Ray Palmer a.k.a The Atom, but will also take on the Superman role for the crossover event.
He will be joined by two other Superman characters, with Tyler Hoechlin reprising his role as Supergirl’s Superman, while Tom Welling, who played the character in the popular series Smallville, will return as Clark Kent.
Kingdom Come Superman made his debut is a DC comic miniseries from Mark Waid and Alex Ross. The series introduced fans to an older, darker take Superman whose faith in humanity has been destroyed.
Crisis on Infinite Earths will be a five-episode crossover event across the Arrowverse shows, Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow, that will take place later this year. Numerous guest stars have been announced including Burt Ward from TV’s Batman, Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman from the animated series, Ashley Scott and Rachel Skarsten from the 2002 series, Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman‘s Lynda Carter and more.
