Jak and Daxter Coming to PS4 Later This Year

Sony PlayStation has announced that the Naughty Dog classics Jak and Daxter, Jak II, Jak 3 and Jak X: Combat Racing are getting an HD upgrade and will be available on the PlayStation 4 (“PS4”) via download at PS Store later this year! This means that Jak and Daxter is the first full Sony franchise to get the PlayStation 2 Classics treatment on the PS4!

Bringing this classic PlayStation 2 franchise over to the PS4 is most welcome as both longtime fans and a new generation of players  are now able to experience the incredible exploits of Jak and Daxter as they set out to explore ancient lands and unravel the mysteries of the Precursors.

Sony also announced that the PS4 debut of Jak X will be the first time anyone has been able to buy the game since its release in October 2005. Unfortunately the game will not include online features although gamers can still battle against their friends via splitscreen.

These four Naughty Dog games are being given the 1080p resolution up-rendering with PS4 features such as PlayStation Network trophies, Share Play and Remote Play being added. Sony has not announced pricing at this time.

We can’t wait to revisit the Jak and Daxter games as well as other much loved PlayStation classics that will be coming over to the PS4, including Crash Bandicoot via the Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy
