Logitech G433 Headset Review

Thanks to Logitech G, I’ve spent a good chunk of the last few weeks testing, using and fully experiencing all that the Logitech G433 (“G433”) headset offers. Unlike other gaming headsets on the market, the G433 comes across as more than just a ‘gaming’ headset. Rather, it’s an all-in-one, take it with you everywhere headset, making it a portable option for when you’re on the move.

Right from the outset, this headset looks good. It’s stylish design and mesh-fabric cover makes the headset look more synonymous with urban streetwear than garish gaming gear. Available in a variety of colours, including black, blue, blue camo and red, the G433 rivals the look of other more ‘premium’ headphones used by music lovers, such as the Beats by Dre or JBL branded headphones. It’s aesthetics make the G433 a comfortable headset to be seen out and about with.

Not only does the G433 look good, it feels good as well. With circumaural ‘cans’ (which covers the ears completely rather than sitting on them) made of a soft, breathable micro-fibre cloth, I felt very little discomfort upon prolonged wear. There was also little to no sweat build up, which usually occurs upon prolonged use of headsets made out of pleather. With the G433, the only instance in which I felt slight discomfort and needed to remove the headset for a short break, is upon wearing the headset with glasses. This wasn’t too much of a concern as I hardly wear glasses and only do so right before bed at night.

One of the best features of the G433 is it’s portability. Being lightweight, with detachable cans and boom mic clip, as well as interchangeable cables, means that the G433 provides users with a variety of options for use and allows for easy transformation. Having detachable cans also make it much easier for cleaning purposes, making the G433 a much more hygienic option (which is great for clean freaks like me!).

Sound quality wise, the G433 sounded crisp and clear, potentially due to having the same Pro-G audio drivers as the Logitech G533. The quality of sound coming through the headset while gaming was decent and as good as other Logitech gaming headsets, which I have used in the past. Listening to music through the G433 was also extremely clear and dare I say, even better than some of the traditional headphones I’ve used. The circumaural shape of the cans also allowed for a fair bit of noise-cancellation, which was a welcome bonus.

All in all, the G433 is an excellent multi-purpose headset, which looks good and feels better. Currently available for around $145NZD at most gaming retailers, the Logitech G433 is a good, solid headset option that provides fantastic sound, comfort and aesthetics that you’d be proud to be seen wearing.
