Microsoft Announces Release Date For Xbox One S

Excited for the next generation of gaming consoles?

Microsoft has announced that their newest gaming console, the Xbox One S, will be released in Australia and New Zealand on 2 August 2016.

The Xbox One S launch edition comes in a sleek white design, is 40% smaller from its predecessor and will be one of the cheapest 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray players on the market.  In addition, the console will have a larger hard drive (2TB) and come bundled with a new wireless controller which offers better grip, improved wireless signal and Bluetooth support.

The 2TB console will be available at all major retailers with a retail price point of $649 NZD.  The console will also be available in 1TB and 500GB variations, however, the retail price for this has not been announced at this stage.

For those who aren’t feeling the pristine white look, Microsoft has also announced a limited edition Gears of War 4 themed Xbox One S console, available for pre-order.
