MSI Reveals New Business Laptop Series & Logo During Virtual Summit

MSI announced during its first ever virtual summit, “Determined To Succeed,” that it has entered the business market with a new line of high-performance laptops. The new “Business and Productivity” series is geared toward business and enterprise customers. The new business-oriented “Summit Series” are one of the first laptops to be powered by the recently announced 11th Gen Intel® processor for boosting user productivity and conforms to the growing trends of remote working caused by COVID-19.

Derek Chen, MSI Notebook Division-Global Sales & Marketing Director, and host of the summit kicked off the event by saying, “2020 has been full of challenges but they also come with new opportunities. Today we are proud to introduce our first ever line of high-performance business and productivity laptops with features to address the needs of our changing workforce.”

Soon after, Derek unveiled MSI’s three new state-of-the-art laptop lines that comprise its new Business and Productivity series. “Summit,” “Prestige,” and “Modern” all come with the powerful performance provided by 11th Gen Intel® processors, delivering optimized productivity, performance, and efficiency to business and diverse users.

The new Summit Series embodies MSI’s ongoing pursuit of excellence in new categories. The name “Summit” references both a meeting of leaders, the pinnacle of capability and perseverance. Its visual profile is informed by minimalist and modern design philosophies and is intended to appeal to the unique tastes of today’s business professionals.

Henri Chen, MSI Notebook Division Chief Design Officer, also shared the inspiration behind MSI’s new business logo which embodies the same spirit of robust performance as the preceding design, but has been evolved with sharper, straight lines and characters that represent the product line’s minimalist style.

As MSI is known for exacting detail, Chen shared that the logo is precisely calculated and designed under the “Fibonacci Number” and “golden ratio,” paying homage to MSI’s vision, “to produce the best, premium laptops in the industry.”

The event also examined the changing needs and demands of the growing remote work force. Executives from major companies shared their endorsements online of how vital an excellent laptop is for success in the face of new challenges presented by working from home during the pandemic.

“It’s important to have enterprise-grade security. Protecting our IP is a huge priority,” said Oi-Masahiro, General Manager of Canon IT Products Sales Division.

Anita Feng, Account Manager at Microsoft Taiwan also emphasized what she needs from a laptop is “Long battery life support long working hours, touch panel for better user experience, also a great camera for conferences.”

The entire line-up of MSI business laptops have been designed around the needs of business users and companies, eliminating common pain points. For instance, portability and performance is boosted with the latest 11th Gen Intel® processor and Intel® iRIS Xe, the most powerful integrated Intel graphics ever. Both are integrated within Summit’s slim aluminium chassis with military standard durability. TPM 2.0 provides enterprise-grade security to assure enterprise business confidentiality.

The Summit series comes in two models. The Summit B Series combines 10+ hours of battery life for a full day of work in an ultra-portable form-factor, offering exceptional productivity even on the go. The Summit E series comes in an additional wide range of dedicated graphics and includes an infrared camera that supports Windows Hello facial recognition.

The Summit series also offers friendly remote work features, such as a touchscreen that supports multi-touch, and an exclusive “AI noise cancellation” function that can eliminate background noise to help keep video conference meetings on track.

The event also presented the already illustrious Prestige and Modern series laptops. These laptops have been updated with the new logo and reinvigorated with captivating, chic colors. With its high performance and sleek design, the Prestige and Modern Series are designed for everyday business use, combining versatility with high functionality and value.

Also unveiled was the Prestige 14 Evo, which is one of the first laptops to be certified on the Intel® Evo™ platform powered by 11th Gen processor, which indicates Prestige 14’s smarter than average laptops! “Its robust performance, instant wake function, responsiveness and long battery life all help it to accomplish an advanced level of efficiency and better mobility.”

A final surprise at the end of the event was a glimpse of the upcoming MSI Summit E13 Flip, featuring a display that flips 360 degrees. It combines the utility of a laptop with the convenience of a tablet to accommodate the many different ways people work.

Toward the end of the event, MSI showed how it connected with its own employees from 120 countries around the world in a visual demonstration of the company’s strength and unity as they work from home, riding out the storm of COVID-19. MSI’s “Business and Productivity” laptops are expected to go on sale starting in October 2020 online and at popular technology retailers.
