Nintendo could be releasing two new models of the Switch this year.
Following rumours surrounding the release of a new model of the Switch, the Wall Street Journal have reported that Nintendo will be releasing two new versions of the console later this year.
According to the report, the first model will be a premium console aimed at hardcore gamers.
It “will have enhanced features targeted at avid videogamers, although it won’t be as powerful as Sony Corp.’s PlayStation 4 Pro or Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One X.”
The second model will see some features removed (specifically, vibration) and will be:
“a cheaper option for casual gamers that Nintendo sees as a successor to its ageing hand-held 3DS device.”
Rumours are speculating that these models will be further detailed at E3 this year. It’s likely both consoles will be set to release around Christmas.
We’re excited to see what Nintendo has in store for us this year.
