Sonic The Hedgehog is speeding his way back into our hearts with more than just new video games. Variety has reported that the lovable blue hedgehog will be making his big screen debut in the near future with Paramount Pictures gaining the movie rights to the popular SEGA video game franchise.
The film will be produced by a team of people originally slated to work on the film, back when the rights were held by Sony Pictures. This includes Deadpool director, Tim Miller. Blur Studio collaborator Jeff Fowler, is currently slated to direct.
The studio is said to be attempting a mixture of live-action and CGI animation for the Sonic film, though no details have yet to be revealed regarding plot nor release date.
More information will be available in due course. In the meantime, fans will be able to enjoy more Sonic in the new Sonic Forces game which releases on November 7th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
