PRESS RELEASE
As gamers across the country prepare for the launch of the highly-anticipated Gears 5, Xbox ANZ has announced Gears Ink – a first-of-its-kind global fan moment taking place across several countries around the world, including Australia.
Gears Ink will take to the graffiti-streaked streets of Melbourne’s warehouse district on Thursday 5 September from 7:00-10:30pm, bringing to life the unique outlaw culture of the Gears universe. Hosted by The Coalition’s very own Bonnie Jean Mah, Narrative Lead for Gears 5, Gears Ink will give fans their first hands-on with Gears 5 – including Horde, Versus, Escape and Campaign modes.
Featuring some of the world’s best tattoo artists, barbers and brewers, the festival will celebrate 13 years of the fan-favourite franchise with bespoke creations and experiences for local fans. On the night, hardcore fans are invited to take to the chair as legendary tattoo artists Troy & Adam Slack ink unique Gears inspired custom designs, which are available on a first come, first serve basis.
If tattoos aren’t your thing, Gears fans can also have their devotion to the cult title shaved into their fades by the expert barbers from Men’s Biz, who will be on-site giving haircuts and beard trims, while iconic Aussie brewers Young Henrys will quench attendees’ thirsts from fighting off the Swarm. And finally, local graffiti artists will be creating a live mural during the entire event.
So grab your lancer and move quick as ticket registrations are live now! To register for one of the limited tickets head to the official Gears Ink Melbourne Website. If you’re not quick enough to grab a ticket, don’t stress. Fans can tune in to the livestream of the Gears Ink event across Xbox ANZ’s Twitter, Mixer and Facebook channels.
Gears 5 arrives at all good retailers in Australia on September 10, while Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can play the highly-anticipated title from September 6.
