Erica Durance will reprise her role as Lois Lane in the Arrowverse.
The news comes hot on the heels of yesterday’s major announcement that Tom Welling will be returning as Clark Kent in the Crisis on Infinite Earths (“Crisis”) crossover event.
The actress, who already features in the Arrowverse as Supergirl’s mother, Alura, will return as Lois Lane for multiple episodes. The crossover event will reveal just what Lois and Clark have been up to since the end of Smallville.
“It’s a bit Twilight Zone-y for me,” Durance told EW about stepping into the Superman mythos as Alura in 2018. “You come back and now all of a sudden I’m wearing the crest, and I’m from there, and I’m kind of embodying all of the things that I was never apart of in Smallville. It’s a little odd, just like talking about Clark’s name and this and that. And of course, it’s a completely different world and zone. Yeah, so it’s a bit of a laugh, but I’ve enjoyed it, and they’ve created such a nice story here.”
Durance won’t be the only Lois Lane in the crossover event. Elizabeth Tulloch, who played the Daily Planet reporter in last year’s crossover event, Elseworlds, will also return for Crisis, alongside Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman. At the conclusion of Elseworlds, Tulloch and Hoechlin’s characters moved to Argo City, one of the last remnants of Krypton, because Lois was pregnant. It’s likely that in Crisis, the pair’s newborn child will make its debut.
Crisis on Infinite Earths will premiere this October.
