Marvel’s Silver Surfer may be gliding through the Universe and onto our screens once again.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Silver Surfer film is being developed by 20th Century Fox, with Brian K. Vaughan penning the script. Vaughan is most well known as being the creator of Marvel’s Runaways, as well as being the writer for other comic book hits such as Y: The Last Man.
The report suggests Fox is going at “100 miles per hour” with their X-Men and Fantastic Four related properties as if they were still a standalone studio.
“We actually have way more in development and production in Marvel IP than at any point in the history of the studio. There’s been zero slowdown on that front given Disney.” A Fox insider reportedly told THR.
Currently, on top of this Silver Surfer project, Fox has Deadpool 2, X-Men: Dark Phoenix and New Mutants slated for release, while Channing Tatum’s Gambit movie is still in active development.
The Silver Surfer first made his appearance on theatre screens in the 2007 Fantastic Four sequel.
